One Step at a Time


I have been Promosing this for far too long.


The truth is until I had followed these steps and actually achieved something from them, I was unable to put them into words.


NOW I KNOW THIS WORKS!


Because it has for me:

When I lost 3 stone 9lb in weight last year.

When I became a qualified life coach.

Now I have started my dream business.


So here are the steps to success.

Dolly didn't teach me these.

In fact no one teaches you these.

It has taken me a long time to discover them for myself.


Now I know. I want to share them with the world.

Just follow them

What I am providing.

A system which takes you through the steps you need to achieve your goals

that people never explain.


Other people will tell you about setting SMART goals,

Be specific what you are aiming for,

create a realistic timeline,

the way you have to change,

develop healthy habits,

revise your goals,

be flexible in your approach.


This is all true and very good advice

you can find it all over the internet.

Still people don't achieve their dreams.


Why?


Because what they don't tell you

is that to really achieve your dreams

you have to become the person you dream of being.

To do that takes real work and intention

on a level most people completely disregard.


From within.


Hold on tight folks.

This is the really hard bit!

STEP 1 - Live a Proactive Life.

  Changing your life or anything in it is not a simple or quick thing to do.

You need to be prepared to take responsibility for your own life.

Very few people do this.

We are taught to accept what life brings and roll with the punches.

This is a reactive way to live and can be exhausting

as we run around fixing the leaks that appear in our lives.



Living a proactive life, gets you where you want to be

instead of where life tosses you.


This is a hard change to make but once you start,

it will become easier



STEP 2  - Be Prepared to Change and Grow

You are where you are because of who you are.

The choices you have made,

The things you have done.

These are done based on who you believe you are.


If you really want to change anything in your life

You have to be prepared to grow,

to change your perspective,

and erradicate old beliefs that no longer serve you.


We are stronger and more capable than we let ourselves believe.


You have to start to believe that you deserve more,

are capable of more,

can be better than you are.


I don't mean work harder, I mean work smarter.


See things in another way.

Look at problems as current challenges.

Spend your time looking out not in.

Appreciate what you have instead of lamenting what you have not.

Change your negative thoughts and energy into positive thoughts and actions.


This all takes a different kind of work.

Work on yourself.


80% of success is mindset.


If you fail at goals, never get the job you want, can't find love.


Change your mindset to change your life. 


STEP 3 - Your Brain is Not Your Friend.

We all have an inner voice that guids us, but is it always right?


Well the truth is "no". This was a big shock to me and and a real eye opener.


Most people's inner voice is their worst critic.

It tells us not to do things because;

 we aren't good enough,

we will fail,

it will be too hard,

it isn't worth the time and effort,

It's scarey out side your comfort zone.


The truth is our brain is still hard wired in the dark ages.

It believes it has to protect us from anything that may threaten us.

It is trying to keep us alive.


BUT


Life has moved on and our brain hasn't got that memo.


When we are slightly nervous of something that will push us outside our comfort zone,our brain senses danger and instantly tries to stop us.


If it had got the memo our brain would now say

"go on, push new boundaries, it's good to challenge yourself"


Because it never got that memo we need to learn to bypass our brain,

because all it will ever do is hold us back.

Trying to keep us in the safe,comfort zone we are in,

even if it is not comfortable at all.


So now you understand why your brain is not your friend How do you bypass it?

This is where the real work comes in,

and I promise you when you start down this road you will,

relax more,

feel happier,

know where you are going

and find the path to get there so much easier.



Step 4 - The Magical World Within US

I said at the begining we need to grow and change to change the life around us.

Well this is where all the change and growth starts

From within.


I am now going to suggest practices and habits

that you need to take on board

and follow every day. 


Stick with me because I know you will say you don't have the time

and you probably don't believe all this stuff,

but you see there is the rub.

We are not taught this as children,

We are told it is all rubbish

and put off at every turn.


Why?

Because if everyone was successful

how would the successful people hold their power?


I say to you.


You will never know until you try.

I know this works - and I'm not selling anything.

This information is free

all you have to do is the work it needs.


If you never try you will never know.


 

STEP 5 - Quiten Your Bully Brain

So now the work begins for real.


Firstly we have to reprogram our negative brain.

We do this by actively living in the present every day.

By that I mean be aware at all times what that negative brain is telling you.


Everytime your brain says something critical about you,

 or negative about what you are doing.

STOP!


Then correct it!


for example:


I am not stupid for making a mistake.

It was an easy mistake to make, I am human and perfect in my imperfection.


That is not too difficult a thing to do.

I will learn the skill I need to achieve it.


I am not useless

I can do alsorts of amazing things.


I am not ugly, overweight, too skinny.

I am who I am, and I am beautiful in my uniqueness.


You may have heard these type of things called Affirmations.

That is what they are.

You need to reafirm every day to your outdated brain

that you are you,

you are human and by that very fact not perfect,

but you are perfect as you are,

because you are unique and an important part of the diversity of the world.


Reaffirm these things every time your brain from the dark ages

tries to hold you back.

 


STEP 6 - Keep a Journal

Now you have started to make actual changes you need to start writing it down.


When you stop the inner critisism and change the words to something positive, write them down.

Everything your inner voice criticises you for, is a self-limiting belief.


Somewhere in your life you have learned to accept that you are:


not good enough,

stupid, thick or any other such description,

fat, thin, ugly, too tall, too short, whatever you believe about yourself,

 a failure,useless,you mess things up,

afraid of people, failing, succeeding, being rich, being poor, being judged.


Whatever you brain is telling you about yourself

they are your self limiting beliefs.


Use your affirmations.

Tell yourself night and morning that these things are not true

by repeating the opposite to yourself in a mirror every day.


Be careful not to use negatives.

Don't say I am not ugly, say I am beautiful inside and out.

Don't say I am not a fool, say I am capable of doing what I need to do.

Don't say I don't mess up, say I make a good and complete job of everything I do.


Say every day

"I am human, I am unique,I am an important part of the Universal plan"


Even if things aren't quite that way. If you repeat the positive enough

it will become better.


You will become stronger in your own energy,

you will be more confident and you will be more focused and work better.


Write these things down and work on yourself everyday.


Retrain that brain to know who you will be,when it stops pulling you down.


As well as your affirmations write down anything good that happened that day

and anything you notice different about yourself.


After a week go back and see how far you have come.

It may take a little longer but keep checking.

Notice that over time those critical remarks may change.

This will happen as you work through them.

You will notice some things crop up less 

but new critisisms may appear.


Self improvement is like peeling an onion.

Every layer you remove reveals another just as complex.

We spend our whole lives improving who we are

but that is OK. Life is a journey.

 and now you are on the right path




STEP 7 - Gratitude


Gratitude is greatly underestimated.


When you live a life of gratitude two things happen



Firstly, when we are grateful for the good in our lives

The good is most prominent in our minds.

This then stops us concentrating on all the bad that could happen,

especially those things that haven't happened yet and probably never will.

This reduces our need for worry and makes our life happier.


The second thing that happens goes much deeper.

As we concentrate on the good in our lives the Universe is then bound to give us more of the same.


The Law of Attraction says

whatever you put out into the world

you recieve more of the same.


However if you concentrate for ten minutes on putting out good energy

while the rest of the day you are worrying, being negative

and creating senarios to worry about that may probably never happen.

What do you think the Law of Attraction will bring you more of?

The ten minutes thinking good or the other 23 hours of negativity.


It should be pretty obvious.


You will get more of the 23 hours of worry and maybe,

 the scenarios that would never happen suddenly do.


If you want the Universe to bring you joy and happiness

you jolly well better be putting joy and happiness out into the world.


It's really is that simple.


When you start with Gratitude it is an idea to write 5 things that you are grateful for in your journal every day.


Build that up to twice a day, and to really start the magic

live gratitude in everything you do.

Don't just say it or write it, feel it!


 

Step 8 - Accessing The Magical World Within US

Meditation


Now I can imagine if you have never meditated successfully

that you have an image of sitting cross legged on the floor,

making "O"s with your thumb and index finger and

going "Ummmmmmmm"


Yes right!

Let's leave that to the guru's


I am talking about guided meditation.


Meditation that speaks to your inner self while you sit or lay back and relax.


I am not offering any meditations because there are so many on line and on You Tube, all done by better people than me.


If you are not ready for an actual guided meditation yet 

start with healing music. 

These come in all sorts of styles and I am sure you can find one that suits you.

Just go onto You Tube and search "healing music"

Then pick something you enjoy, sit back and relax.


Guided meditations are spoken so find one who's voice you like and can relax to.


The really good ones are a form of hynotherapy.

These relax you into a state that takes you deeper,

they are very good for changing your self limiting beliefs

and opening your mind to other belief systems.


Most of our self limiting beliefs are picked up either in childhood

or by accident on our way through our lives.

However we get them,

self limiting beliefs will always hold us back,

Meditations are available for most limiting beliefs.


Again just search

"meditations for self-love"

"meditations for wealth"

"meditations for self-confidence"


My personal favourites are meditations for abundance

as abundance covers health, wealth and happiness,

but you may need to start with more specific ones.


Do a different one everyday or

find one that feels right and stick with it.

The meditations will draw you.

Follow your instincts.

The meditations you use will change as you grow and change.

go with the flow and let them develop as just another part of your journey.



Step 9 - Visualisation

This next step is something you may have come across before.


Imagine your new self when you have achieved your goal.

Visualise what you will look like or do when you are successful.


You may have also tried it.


What people don't tell you is that just visualising alone is not enough.


You have to feel like your new self.


Remember what I said about your brain not being your friend?

Well it turns out it's not really very bright either.

It can't tell the difference between reality and a dream.

Yes just think about that a minute.


So the trick with visulisation is be that new you in your head.

Feel what they would feel,think of doing what they would do.

Behave like the new you as much as is possible as you are.

Then your brain will believe this is real

It will think you are already the new you.


Why is that important?


Because your brain will then act like the new you.

now it is on your side and making this happen for you.


When that happens, life starts to change.


The subconcious influence our brain has on us, also spreads to others.


Something called synchronicity starts to happen

 and doors open in places you would never have dreamed of.

Things and opportunities arrive that you would never have thought possible six months or a year before.


It sounds hard to believe but I know it is true.


In October 2015 I was working for Kleneeze.

Like all these MLM/sales businesses I was encouraged to have big dreams.

I put a poster on my kitchen wall of a horse running across a green expanse.

I put a piece of paper at the top saying

"Mine June 2016"

I had just started riding again after years away from horses.


Everyday I looked at that horse and wished I could own one.

In January a new horse came into the riding school yard

 and I couldn't wait to ride her. 

She had such pressence as she looked out of her stable and I had taken to her.

It was Dolly.

When I started to ride her I liked her even more.

Still everyday I looked at that picture.

As the days went by the picture felt more and more real to me.

One day I remebered stroking the horse and it felt that I could feel the muscle under the hair.

I thought I was mad, it was a paper poster!

In May I decided to remortgage my buy to let property. I wanted to release some money to change the terrible conservatory on that property.

THe house value had gone up so I paid off the original mortgate with a larger one (buy to lets always have a high deposit percentage)and a better interest rate.

I mentioned this to my riding instructor as it was all going through.

The next lesson she told me Dolly was up for sale.

I was stunned as I assumed she was a new horse for the school and nothing more. 

After lots of soul searching about owning a horse and the financial commitments 

in June 2016 I finally bought Dolly.

Something I had only ever dreamt of and never considered would ever happen.


Never until I could feel that live horse in that picture

 had I ever achieved a dream before in my life.

STEP 10 - Make The Plans

Whatever your goals and dreams you do have to do the work.


But now you have the steps to change your mindset,

doing the actual work is the easy bit.


Success is 80% mindset and 20% effort.


Work on your inner self and turn yourself into the person you want to be when you are successful.


Start small and see the changes come in small ways

until you get more confident.

Then dream as big as your own mind will let you.


Then start working on your belief of what is dreaming big.
